We are excited to introduce a new and improved way for you to participate in your faecal calprotectin or elastase (coming soon) testing with the CALEX Cap Patient Kit. Instead of sending a stool sample in a traditional container, you can now use this easy-to-use kit to send in your sample to the GP.
This new process will improve the quality of your sample and help the laboratory process your test more efficiently, making the whole process smoother for both you and your healthcare team.
What’s Inside the Kit?
Each kit comes discreetly packaged and includes:
- A CALEX extraction device to collect your sample
- Instructions with clear steps on how to use the kit
- A grip-seal bag to return the CALEX and request form
The instructions are written in simple terms and include helpful diagrams. There’s also a link to a short video on how to correctly collect samples of various consistencies. (Please see below)

Kit Step by Step Guide

The Faecal Calprotectin Collection Kit will be provided to you by your GP/Clinician.

Within the kit you will find an Instructions for Use (IFU) with an integral label, a CALEX tube and a clear grip seal bag.

The IFU gives clear detailed instructions on how to collect the faecal sample using the CALEX cap. The QR code on the IFU directs you to a video demonstrating how to correctly collect samples of various consistencies.

A peelable label is affixed to the IFU, providing a space to input key information: your name, the date the sample was collected, and your date of birth.

Remove the completed label.

Once the sample has been collected, stick the label onto the CALEX tube.

Place the CALEX tube into the clear grip-seal bag along with the request form provided by your GP/clinician and close securely before promptly returning it to your GP surgery or hospital laboratory.
