IBMS Congress

22-25 September 2019       Stand #126

ICC, Birmingham

IBMS-2019With a long tradition in providing diagnostics for digestive health management, Alpha Laboratories invites IBMS Congress visitors to stand No. 126 to discuss the innovative products that are now available for this patient-pathway.

On stand 126, Alpha Laboratories will showcase unique solutions that bring clinical patient benefits as well as functional and cost saving improvements. Whether that’s through routine blood analysis, specialist faecal immunochemical tests, calprotectin or microbiology assays. You can also find out about our range of controls, standards and calibrators that help support your ISO 15189 accreditation.

NICE have reviewed Faecal Haemoglobin testing using FIT to triage patients with low risk of colorectal cancers. Come and discuss how your clinic can benefit from the HM-JACKarc system. There are a number of hospitals in the UK now using this technology with a cut-off of 10µgHb/g faeces, which has a high NPV for cancer (100%) and other serious bowel disease (94%), making it an effective method of reducing colonoscopy referrals.

We would welcome the opportunity to discuss evaluations in your clinic or hospital so please come and talk to us.

Digestive Diseases Day, 2017

On the 15th November 2017, Alpha Laboratories held a Digestive Diseases Day workshop. This educational day brought together experts in the field to discuss recent advances in clinical diagnostics for gastroenterology, with the afternoon sessions covering calprotectin in primary care and pre-analytical influences on calprotectin. You can watch the videos of the presentations below.

Calprotectin in primary care – Dr James Turvill
Pre-analytical influences on calprotectin – Amanda Appleton

How do your methods of testing compare?

Clinical scientists attending the workshop were surveyed regarding the faecal calprotectin assays performed in their laboratories. These questions related to the topics that were covered by the speakers. Click the link below to see the results.
